On November 21, 2008 the Morrison Hotel Gallery and Sony Music Entertainment's ICON Collectibles will present "THE GENIUS OF MILES DAVIS...The Columbia Years," a photographic exhibition celebrating one of the 20th century's most profoundly influential musicians at the gallery's Bowery location. The exhibit will feature rare and never before seen limited edition fine art prints of Davis taken by Sony staff photographer Don Hunstein, Herman Leonard, Jim Marshall and Lee Wiener between 1955 and 1985.

In June of 1972, Miles Davis entered Columbia’s 52nd St. Studios to record music that was eventually released as On The Corner and part of Big Fun – stuff that  was so far out and future perfect, it was its own genre. The world finally caught up. Now fans can experience The Complete On The Corner Sessions, a collection of over 6 1/2 hours of music covering Miles’ studio recordings from ’72 to ’75, whose reputation precedes it and retains the signature spirit of an artist ever-changing.
Part tribute and part rejuvenation project, 'Evolution Of The Groove' brings Miles Davis, the jazz trumpeter and composer responsible for 'Bitches Brew,' 'Birth of the Cool,' 'Kind of Blue' and many other classics, back to the fore. A precursor to a 6-CD box set 'Miles Davis: The Complete On The Corner Sessions,' the 'Evolution Of The Groove' remix EP premieres tracks with rapper Nas on vocals and his father Olu Dara on trumpet, Carlos Santana's guitar mastery, and an A-list contemporary music ensemble of Miles' nephew Vince Wilburn, Jr.

2005 marked the 50th Anniversary of Miles Davis making Columbia Records his home. Columbia/Legacy/Jazz celebrated this occasion with a stunning array of releases. After Kind Of Blue (now over 10 million in sales worldwide), Miles Davis was again searching for a new group and a new sound. In late 1964, he formed his "second great quintet" with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hanc***, Ron Carter and Tony Williams.
