In celebration of Miles Davis Radio, the limited-run, 24-hour commercial-free satellite radio channel dedicated to the man and his music, SIRIUS XM is giving you the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime Miles Davis experience. One Grand Prize winner and a guest will fly to Montreal, Canada in April 2010 to attend the opening of the "We Want Miles" exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. The winner will also receive Miles Davis: The Complete Columbia Album Collection: a deluxe limited edition retrospective of the iconic music Miles created during his 30 years with Columbia Records – 70 CDs and 1 DVD packaged in Japanese-styled mini LP Jackets, plus a 250-page book with a biography, discography, complete song index and rare photos, available at Amazon on November 24th. I will be listening to Miles on the XM channel today. This brought up a flash back from the Spring if 1971 when I was at the University of Washington in Seattle. I was taking a film making class and one of the students in this class did a 16mm movie of the still slide pictures that he took at his concert during that Spring 71 in Seattle. These pictures were EXCELLENT and he said he was the only photographer allowed at this concert. So, if the guy who made this movie is out there, let us all know. Thanks, S. Craig Bergsma (my movie for the class was called "Balance").
